Túcume is a city in the Lambayeque Province in the Lambayeque region of northwestern Peru . The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name . The 2017 census counted 9241 inhabitants. 10 years earlier the population was 7,916.

The city is located 23 km north of the provincial capital Lambayeque in the arid coastal plain of northwest Peru. Irrigated agriculture is practiced in the area. The Lambayeque – Chulucanas highway passes Túcume. About two kilometers east of the city, a hill rises from the lowlands. On top of this are the so-called pyramids of Túcume , an archaeological site from the pre-Columbian era.
