Tückhude
Tückhude is a district of the municipality Golchen in the Mecklenburg Lake District . Tückhude is located around three kilometers northwest of Golchen on the southwestern edge of the Tollensetal lowland across from Wietzow . The Tollense is dammed by a weir to the east of the village .
Two Slavic ramparts to the west of the present-day settlement testify to an earlier settlement in the region .
The place was laid out in 1775 on the so-called Tickhut , a flat surface at the exit of an erosion channel . The first settlers were wool spinners . In the 1860s Tückhude had 83 inhabitants, who made their living mainly as day laborers, and belonged to the Klempenow office .
Due to frequent floods, the Tollensee river between Klempenow and Ludwigshöhe was straightened during GDR times (1973–1974), followed in 1976 by the construction of a weir in Tückhude. The costs for this were 1.2 million marks .
In 1996, the Golchen community took over a school camp in Tückhude from what was then the Demmin district . This hit the headlines across the country in 2008 when it became known that the right-wing extremist homeland - loyal German youth had held meetings here for several years.
