history

Wietzow was settled early on. During excavation work in 1927, while the Tollense was being straightened, a handle-tongue sword from the older Bronze Age (1800 to 1100 BC) was exposed. It is 60.8 cm long, the blade is 55 cm long and 3.6 cm wide.

The first written mention of the Wietzow, sometimes also referred to as Vietzow or Witzow , comes from the year 1428. It was about money that Heinrich von Moltzahn lent the Pomeranian Duke. In 1496 and 1498 Vietzow was mentioned in feudal letters Bogislaw X. , who enfeoffed the "Perselyne", the brothers Henning, Claus and Henneke Perselin, who lived here. Henning von Perselin pledged Wietzow in 1537 to Venz von Blücher from the Daberkow family. In 1539 Georg Perselin also sold his stake in the place to Venz von Blücher. Ewald von Blücher was elected Wietzow by Duke Philip I in 1547 . In 1602 Duke Philipp Julius confirmed their feudal letters to the brothers Christoph, Hans, Valentin and Joachim Perselin.

It has not been established when the Perselin family died out in the 17th century and the fiefdom passed to the von Blücher family. Wietzow was a subsidiary of Daberkow in the following time. In 1714 Daberkow, Wietzow and other goods and land from Blücherschem property were pledged to the von Linden family for 27,000 Reichstaler and in 1738 they were finally left entirely.

In 1739 Wietzow was all modified . By inheritance, Wietzow came in 1785 as part of the Tützpatz Majorate to Georg Christian Friedrich von Heyden, who founded the Heyden-Linden family . After the abolition of the majorate in 1838 Wietzow was sold to Ludwig von Netzow (1902-1854) on Kagenow . By marrying his daughter Maria von Netzow (1844–1911), Adolf Graf von Blücher (1840–1893) from the Fincken family came into possession of the manor .

His nephew Lebrecht Graf von Blücher inherited the estate in 1899 and sold it in 1911 to the naval officer Richard Wolff (1882–1938). Wolff ran a warmblood stud in Wietzow and bred Hanoverians . Having got into financial difficulties because of a guarantee, Richard Wolff sold Wietzow in 1929 to Joseph von Schoeler (1868–1945). From him in 1935 Wolf-Eginhard von Kruse (1887–1970) acquired the estate for 650,000 Reichsmarks.

Kruse, the largest landowner in the district of Anklam , was expropriated during the land reform in 1945. The land, initially distributed to new farmers , was incorporated into the state-owned Gut Neu Plötz in 1950 . After the reunification the VEG was wound up. The manor house was sold to Raik Mulsow in 1994. The entire house and the approx. 14 hectare landscape park including its water areas have been extensively restored.
