The TPA Group is a tax consultancy and auditing company based in Vienna. The services of the TPA Group include the areas of tax advice , bookkeeping , payroll accounting , accounting , auditing and management consulting in Central and Southeastern Europe.

The headquarters of the TPA group is in Vienna. The company is run by several partners in Austria and in Central and Southeastern European countries. The TPA Group employs over 1,500 people at 30 locations in Central and Southeastern Europe. 14 locations are located in Austria ( Graz , Hermagor , Innsbruck , Klagenfurt , Langenlois , Lilienfeld , Linz , Krems an der Donau , Schrems , St. Pölten , Telfs , Villach , Vienna and Zwettl ). 16 locations are spread over the countries of Albania , Bulgaria , Croatia , Montenegro , Poland , Romania , Serbia , Slovakia , Slovenia , the Czech Republic and Hungary .
history
In 1979 TPA (Treuhand Partner Austria) was founded in Langenlois , Lower Austria. The company expanded and in the early 1990s began expansion into the neighboring countries of Central and Eastern Europe. In all Central and Southeastern European countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Austria, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary) in which the TPA Group is currently represented, the main areas of focus are the Real estate, banking, services, energy industry , manufacturing industry and trade. The location in Tirana, Albania was opened in January 2013. TPA in Austria is one of the five most successful auditors and tax consultants according to KSV in Austria. In June 2015 the tax consultancy opened a new location in Innsbruck.
In September 2016, another location was opened in Romania, in Cluj-Napoca .
From 1995 to September 2016 the TPA Group was a member of Crowe Horwath International , a worldwide association of self-employed and independent tax advisors, auditors and management consultants. The network comprised 205 member companies with 726 offices and 31,000 employees and was one of the "top ten" consulting networks active worldwide.
At the beginning of 2005 the brand was changed and the brand name was expanded: "TPA" became "TPA Horwath" due to its membership in the international network Crowe Horwath International, but it remained an independent company.
In the summer of 2016, the TPA Group ended its membership in the Crowe Horwath International Network and has been on the market again since September 5, 2016 under the brand name "TPA". As of September 5, 2016, the TPA Group is an independent member of the Baker Tilly Europe Alliance. The Baker Tilly Europe Alliance is formed from the TPA group, Baker Tilly in Germany and Baker Tilly International .
In October 2018, the tax consultancy and auditing company opened another location in Telfs, Tyrol. Since December 2018, the consulting group has also been on site in Montenegro with a new partner and on January 1, 2019 TPA opened its 14th location in Austria in Linz.
On September 1, 2019, the TPA Group further strengthened its presence on the Polish market: With the takeover of Moore Stephens Central Audit in September, TPA is now one of the largest consulting companies in Poland.
After the falsification of financial statements, which had apparently been practiced for years at Commerzialbank Mattersburg in Burgenland, became known in July 2020, the TPA came under fire. It had audited the bank's business from 2006 to 2018; the 2019 audit had not yet been completed. The company rejected the criticism that it had been deceived by the Mattersburg commercial bank with "high criminal energy". The bank had abused the auditors' trust and submitted falsified receipts for balances at other banks.
