The TSV 1860 Weißenburg (officially: Turn- und Sportverein 1860 Weißenburg eV ) is a sports club from Weißenburg in the district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The association was founded in 1860. In its current form, however, it has only existed since 1989. The soccer department of the predecessor club TSV Weißenburg took part in the main round of the 1974/75 DFB Cup .

In 1989, TV 1860 Weißenburg and TSV Weißenburg merged to form TSV 1860 Weißenburg. The footballers of TSV Weißenburg had qualified for the main round of the DFB Cup in the 1974/75 season.

Soccer

For the 1974/75 season, the club was able to qualify as one of the amateur clubs from Bavaria for the main round of the DFB Cup. There they lost 0: 5 to SpVgg Fürth .

In the 2004/05 season the club played in the district league Middle Franconia South . In the 2005/06 season, thanks to the second place in the league, the promotion to the next season in the District Upper Franconia could be made clear. This season ended with 47 points in 6th place. After the 2008/09 season, because of the penultimate place, relegation to the district league had to be accepted again. After the 2011/12 season, we went even down to the county League West NM / J . This league could only be left as champions after the 2013/14 season. With the second place in the 2018/19 season, the club entered a relegation round against the national league club FSV Stadeln . The first game was won 2-1, but the second leg was lost in extra time. In the same season , the team was also able to take part in the Bavarian Cup . There they successfully completed the first round with a 2-0 win against TSV Kornburg , but then failed in the next round with a 1: 8 at VfB Eichstätt .
