history

With a history going back more than 100 years, TSV München-Ost is one of the oldest sports clubs in the city of Munich that is still active today.

  • March 16, 1897 : 56 "gymnasts", with the support of the local SPD and the trade unions, found the TSV München-Ost as the "Arbeiter-Turn-Verein München-Ost" in a restaurant at Pariser Strasse 30 . Since the club does not have its own club premises or building at that time, gymnastics will initially take place in the adjoining rooms of restaurants with equipment that you have brought with you.
  • 1904 : Entry in the official register of associations. Sports activities continue to take place in school gymnasiums and taverns in the area (e.g. "Münchner-Kindl-Keller", "Schleibinger Keller").
  • 1906 : Founding of the women's gymnastics department as a novelty in gymnastics, which was then male-dominated
  • 1926 : Acquisition of the club's premises and construction of a clubhouse and a gym on St.-Martin-Straße in Obergiesing
  • May 19, 1933 : Dissolution by the National Socialists . The clubhouse is rededicated in the SA -Heim " Georg Hirschmann ".
  • December 30, 1936 : The NS city administration sells the former clubhouse and the associated land to the "Optical Works CA Steinheil Söhne GmbH Munich", which operates an armaments factory there.
  • October 16, 1945 : TSV München-Ost is re-established in the "Sedan" restaurant in Haidhausen by former club members.
  • June 1948 : The city of Munich gives TSV München-Ost its current location on Sieboldstrasse in der Au .
