Taavi Rähn (born May 16, 1981 in Pärnu ) is a former Estonian football player .
Club career
Rähn signed his first international agreement and thus joined the Volyn Lutsk from 2003 to 2006 . The club played in the Premjer League , with Rähn scoring 3 goals in 55 games as a defensive midfielder.
From 2007 to 2009 he played for Ekranas Panevėžys . In 2008 his club won the championship in the A Lyga .
In June 2009 he joined the Azerbaijani club Neftçi Baku , although he did not receive confirmation of entry until July. Rähn was influenced by his teammate Dmitri Kruglov , who also played in the same club from 2009 to 2010.
In March 2011, he signed a contract with the Chinese club Tianjin Songjiang .
In January 2013, Rähn signed a contract with another Chinese club called Hunan Billows FC . This contract ended in July 2013. After four more positions in Finland and Estonia, he ended his career on December 30, 2016.
National team career
For the Estonian national team, he completed a total of 74 games. Rähn made his debut on June 2, 2001 in an international qualifying match for the 2002 World Cup against the Dutch national team . In the 68th minute, Rähn was substituted for Kert Haavistu . The game ended in a 2-4 defeat for his club. At that time Rähn was 20 years old and it was also an opening game at the A. Le Coq Arena . Due to the defeat, his national team dropped out early and could not participate in the World Cup. On October 14, 2007 Rähn caused an international sensation in a game against the England team at Wembley Stadium when he scored an own goal. The game ended with a 3-0 defeat for his team.
