Tabea Steiner

Tabea Steiner (born September 9, 1981 in Altishausen ) is a Swiss Germanist , literary educator and author .

Life

Tabea Steiner grew up on a farm in Eastern Switzerland . She trained as a primary school teacher and studied German and history at the University of Bern from 2004 to 2016 .

Steiner has been involved in literature mediation since 2004 . She organizes and moderates readings and is, among other things, the initiator and member of the management of the Thun Literature Festival, which is organized by the "Project Literaare". From 2007 to 2016 she organized the literatour tour of the cantonal Bern literary award winners , and from 2009 to 2011 the series of events called Kleist in Thun . In 2014 she was co-curator of the Bern Reading Festival Aprillen.

Steiner was a member of the Literature Commission of the Canton of Bern and a member of the jury for the OpenNet writing competition at the Solothurn Literature Days . Since 2016 she has been a member of the Swiss Literature Awards , the Federal Jury for Literature.

In her first novel, Balg , Steiner tells of a childhood in the country. The work, published in spring 2019, was nominated for the Swiss Book Prize.

Tabea Steiner lives and works in Zurich . She is a member of the RAUF authors' collective.
