Tagai ( Russian Тага́й ) is a village (Russian деревня , derewnja ) in Irkutsk Oblast in Russia with 179 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
The village is located about 45 km in a straight line to the northwest of Rajonverwaltungszentrums Ossa and 170 km north-northwest of the Oblastzentrums Irkutsk on the bank of the river of the same name , the couple of kilometers south in the Bratsk Reservoir of Angara or its from the right Angara inflow Ossa leads bay formed.
The place name comes from the Buryat word таха (tacha) , which means " horseshoe ".
