The day's work eG is a cooperative that since 1984 in the Upper Bavarian counties Erding and Freising regional organic markets.

history

On August 30, 1984, the "consumer and producer cooperative Tagwerk eG" was founded with four organic farmers and around 50 consumers. The amount of the share was 100 DM, the networking was more important than a possible financial gain. In the following years Tagwerk grew rapidly, gaining new members and farmers willing to convert.

The 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster triggered a surge in daily work because many people were concerned about diet because of the nuclear fallout. The first Tagwerk store was opened in Dorfen in November 1986 . Additional shops were opened in Erding, Landshut- Siebenensee, Moosburg , Markt Schwaben , Freising , Landshut-Zentrum, and temporarily also in Wartenberg , Isen and Ebersberg . The growth soon overwhelmed the founders' structures. Therefore, the vegetable trade was outsourced, which an employee took over, the shares were doubled to 200 DM and the shops became independent.

The cooperative focused on wholesale activity . At the end of 1998 the company moved into a new warehouse in Dorfen. In addition, the house with a hotel garni offered the possibility of holding events. In 2008, wholesale and vegetable wholesalers were merged into Tagwerk Wholesale for Naturkost GmbH in Garching near Munich . The GmbH belongs to Tagwerk and natural food wholesaler Bodan in equal parts. In 2012 the branch in Markt Schwaben had to file for bankruptcy.

In 2017 the warehouse moved from Dorfen to Garching, the Tagwerk headquarters moved to Algasing .
