Algasing is a district of the city of Dorfen , which consists only of the numerous buildings of the Algasing monastery and the nursing home of the Merciful Brothers . The place is about 500 meters east of Eibach and 5 kilometers northeast of Dorfen. Until 1859 it consisted of the manor of the noble family of the Algasinger .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1140 as Adelgisingen . The lineage of the Algasinger von Algasing can be traced back to the Middle Ages. The last owner, Kaspar Algasinger, sold the property in 1859 to the Dorfen priest Anton Schmitter, who set up a home for abandoned poor children in it. Since 1868 the estate has belonged to the Barmherzigen Brothers, who maintained a primary school boarding school there until 1965, when they converted the Algasing, which has now been expanded, into a nursing home with an integrated workshop for disabled people. In 1875 the monastery church was built.

The place had from 1898 to 1993 (together with Eibach) a train station on the Dorfen – Taufkirchen – Velden railway line .
