The village of Eibach with about 125 inhabitants is a northern part of the town of Dorfen in the Upper Bavarian district of Erding . Until the Bavarian municipality reform in 1972, Eibach was an independent municipality.

history

In 808 the place with a church is mentioned for the first time as Ad Ipah . The name is derived from the yew trees on the stream . In the 12th century a local nobility had its seat in Eibach. The place saw a lively change of ownership in the high / late Middle Ages , including z. B. the Hochstift Salzburg and the Laiminger zu Wasentegernbach . In 1582 Eibach came to the prince provost of Berchtesgaden . Until 1806 the old school on a hill was a church. Under the guise of great joy in school, the school director Josef v. Klöckl convert the Georgskirche into a school. In 1882 it was replaced by a new building that now serves as a primary school.

Former municipal area

In 1809 the municipality Eibach was formed from the chairmen of Püstling, Weckerling, Kienraching and Jakobrettenbach as well as the court brands Kalling , Haus, Eibach and Breitenloh. In 1967 the municipality with its 45 villages had 1465 inhabitants on 2159 hectares.
The largest municipalities apart from Eibach included the villages and stately hamlets of Kienraching, Schnaupping, Wölling , Jaibing , Norlaching, Kalling and Breitenloh. Other important places were the Kirchweiler Staffing and Jakobrettenbach as well as Algasing with its nursing home and the old Hofmarkssitz house. The places Kienraching and Schnaupping came to Taufkirchen (Vils) on January 1st, 1972 and the rest to Dorfen.

Eibach had a train station on the Dorfen – Taufkirchen – Velden railway from 1898 to 1993 (together with Algasing) . Another stopping point (Babing) was at Kienraching.
