Wasentegernbach was an independent municipality until December 31, 1971 and has been one of the largest districts of the city of Dorfen in the Erding district since May 1, 1978 . The district, which has around 500 inhabitants, is half on the slopes of the Schellenberg / Hangerleite and half in the Isen valley , only separated from the Munich – Simbach railway line . Until 1972 belonged to the former town except the hamlets Loh (birthplace of Great Katz Bach, Georg Lohmeier ) Bergham, Polding and Kraham nine deserts .

history

The place is first mentioned in a document with the nobles of Tegernbach 1104/22 and their moated castle . The Raitenhaslach monastery was founded by them. After several rule changes, the village comes Erasmus of Laiming to Amerang , whose family, the castle gradually to lock Wasentegernbach rebuilt. In 1483 Wasentegernbach became Hofmark , which from 1582 went to the prince provost of Berchtesgaden under Jakob II. Pütrich . Wasentegernbach Castle served the prince provosts' keepers , some of whom are buried in Wasentegernbach or Schwindkirchen , as the administrative center of the court brands Wasentegernbach, Eibach , Haus and Breitenloh , and later also Grüntegernbach , all of which are now districts of the city of Dorfen . In the course of secularization , the castle was demolished except for a small part and the place became a community. The coat of arms of this Hofmark, see also the copper engraving by Michael Wening in the Sights section , was that of the prince provost's office with a central shield of the prince provost in office, who in the engraving therefore does not identify the acquirer of the Hofmark Jakob II. Pütrich, but the one about the origin of the Kupferstichs was supposed to represent Joseph Clemens of Bavaria , who was the Elector of Cologne's administrator of the Prince Provost for many years .

Wasentegernbach was a separate municipality until December 31, 1971 and then together with Grüntegernbach formed the municipality of Tegernbach , which in turn was incorporated into the town of Dorfen as part of the regional reform on May 1, 1978 .

From 1898 to 1988 Wasentegernbach had its own train station on the Munich – Simbach railway line . The post office was relocated in 1969.

An ultralight aircraft airport has existed above Wasentegernbach since 1994 .

  • Of Wasentegernbach Castle , in which the remains of a moated castle , presumably built at the end of the 11th century, only a three-storey remnant of the main building, which was later converted into a guest house, remains.
