history

Schwindkirchen, located on the Goldach , was first mentioned in a document under Bishop Arbeo von Freising (764–784). Because of the place name it is certain that an early church building existed. The parish of Schwindkirchen is likely to have originated in the early High Middle Ages . In the late Early Middle Ages and the High Middle Ages, there was a higher-ranking local nobility. Einhard von Schwindkirchen is mentioned as early as Bishop Atto von Freising (783 / 784–810 / 811) . He exercised the Vogteirechte , connected with the lower jurisdiction, over the monasteries Tegernbach and Mainbach (both in the vicinity of Schwindkirchen). The news about this family is very sparse: in 1120 documents a Otto de Swinkirha and Ekkehardt can be found; In 1203 and 1226, descendants are mentioned, later reports are missing.

Until its dissolution in 1806, the place belonged to the county of Haag, which was incorporated into the Bavarian electorate . 1818 was the Gemeindeedikt the community Schwindkirchen. On November 25, 1864, the previously independent community of Stollnkirchen was incorporated. The municipality with its 21 parts of the municipality was initially part of the Wasserburg district office and then came to the Mühldorf district office on January 1, 1880 . Finally, on July 1, 1972, Schwindkirchen moved through the incorporation into the town of Dorfen in the district of Erding. In 1969 the Georg von Dillis settlement was laid out on the western edge of the village and the Steinberg settlement on the southern edge of the village around 1980. In 1969 the Schwindkirchen secondary school was relocated to Dorfen.
