Grüntegernbach has been part of the town of Dorfen in the Erding district since 1978 . The parish village with around 500 inhabitants is located in the Baderbächlein valley, in the middle between Dorfen and Buchbach .

history

The place is mentioned for the first time in 791 ( Actum est haec in Loco Tegarinuuac ). In the following centuries there was a change of ownership of Grüntegernbach. In the 16th century, the marshals von Pappenheim appear as owners of the Hofmark Grün (Inner) tegernbach. They were followed by those of Haunsperg and von Gobels, then the Hofmark (without a seat) belonged to the prince provost of Berchtesgaden until secularization . In 1979 the parish had to form a parish association with the neighboring parishes Buchbach, Ranoldsberg and Walkersaich due to a lack of priests and in 1968 the schools of Grüntegernbach and Eibach were merged.

From 1818 to December 31, 1971, the place was a separate municipality and then joined forces with Wasentegernbach to form the municipality of Tegernbach , before they joined the city of Dorfen as part of the regional reform on May 1, 1978. The hamlets Loiperstätt, Grünbach, Anzing, Urtlfing and Englschalling belonged to the community, which last had 686 inhabitants .

Worth seeing

Parish Church of St. Nicholas

The church is a stately late Gothic building from the 15th century. The church with a high spire (until 1897 with onion crowning) was extended in 1877 by a western yoke . The interior room layout is as follows: The broad main nave with five nave and two choir bays (with 3/8 end) have been added low aisle-like extensions on both sides. The church has a ribbed vault. On the upper nave walls are frescoes from 1952 depicting eleven scenes from the legends of saints. The other furnishings are neo-Gothic from the church redesign from 1877: high altar (1878), side altars (1878), pulpit (1877) and choir stalls (1880), organ (2012, Linder organ building ).

Filial church of St. Valentin Grünbach

The church, located about 1200 m to the east, is a baroque building with a late Gothic core (15th century) and was a locally sought-after pilgrimage church . The building has a total of three yokes with a 3/8 end. Inside is a late baroque choir altar from 1720, a baroque gallery and rococo choir stalls from 1765.

Filial church St. Johannes Englschalling

The late Romanesque church from the 12th century is 1350 m northeast. The south side of the 3-bay nave is adorned with an arched frieze. To the north of the 1-yoke choir with a 3/8 end is the saddle roof tower (both late Gothic). Worth mentioning is the high baroque high altar around 1670, the high baroque choir stalls and the net vault in the choir .

school

The newer school house Grüntegernbach is a late-Wilhelminian building from 1904, at the NE-Eck a pointed helmet tower.
