Taiyō Koga ( Japanese 古 賀 太陽 , Koga Taiyō ; born October 28, 1998 in Chiba Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Taiyō Koga learned to play football in the youth teams of the Maihama FC Falcons and Kashiwa Reysol . He signed his first professional contract with Kashiwa in 2017. The club from Kashiwa , a city in Chiba Prefecture on Honshū , the main island of Japan , played in the country's highest league, the J1 League . From June 2018 to January 2019 he was loaned to the second division club Avispa Fukuoka in Fukuoka . For Fukuoka, he completed 21 second division games. After the loan, he returned to Kashiwa, who had meanwhile been relegated to the second division. In 2019 he became champion of the J2 League with Kashiwa and rose straight back to the first division.

National team

Taiyo Koga played three times in the U19 national team , twice in the U21 and twice in the U23 national team . He has been playing in the Japanese national team since 2019 . He made his debut in the national team on December 14, 2019 in a game against Hong Kong in the East Asian Championship .
