Kazunori Takeda ( Japanese 武田 和 命 , Takeda Kazunori ; born November 14, 1939 in Tokyo Prefecture , † August 18, 1989 ) was a Japanese jazz musician ( tenor saxophone ).

Kazunori Takeda worked in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1960s; he led his own quartet and in 1966 he performed in a duo with Elvin Jones in Tokyo. After allegedly disappearing from the music scene for over ten years ( although he was involved in Takehiro Honda's album What's Going On in 1973 ), he returned to the stage in 1979 and toured with Yosuke Yamashita for four years . Recordings with Yamashita and his bassist Katsuo Kuninaka were made in 1979. With the two musicians he also recorded his debut album Gentle November (Frasco) in the same year , to which the drummer Takeo Moriyama also played; in addition, the live album Golden Live Stage was created in 1979 in various line- ups (including with Shigeharu Mukai , Akira Sakata , Masahiro Sayama and Ryōjirō Furusawa ). In 1983 he performed with the Yamashitas quartet on the Berlin Jazz Stage and at the Heidelberg Jazz Days. 1987 and 1988 several encounters with the pianist Shoji Aketagawa and rhythm section were documented, which were published in 1990 under the title I Didn't Know About You: The Memory Of Kazunori Takeda Vol. 2 ; In 1989 the live recording Infinity was made , in which Takeda was accompanied by Hiroshi Yoshino (double bass) and Ryojiro Furusawa (drums); the latter was named Koleader when it was released.

In the 1980s Takeda also worked with Shoji Aketagawa , Takehiro Honda and most recently in January 1989 with the Takeshi Shibuya Orchestra. In the field of jazz he was involved in 16 recording sessions between 1979 and 1989.
