style

music

On Tales from the Thousand Lakes Amorphis combines style elements of death metal and doom metal with folk elements. Amorphis was one of the first death metal bands to experiment with clear vocals, and the band also made increasing use of synthesizers and piano . The clear vocals are sometimes referred to as "unsuitable" ( All Music Guide in the review of Tales from the Thousand Lakes ), but often also as the "perfect mix of clear and death metal vocals." ( Silence in the review of Tales from the Thousand Lakes )

Texts and covers

Amorphis took the texts of the Kalevala translation The Kalevala by Keith Bosley from 1989.
