The dance club Rot-Weiss Casino Mainz e. V. is a dance sport club in Mainz , Rhineland-Palatinate . He is a member of the German Dance Sports Association (DTV) and the Dance Sports Association of Rhineland-Palatinate as well as the German Olympic Sports Association (DOSB) and the State Sports Association of Rhineland-Palatinate.

history

The association was founded in 1949 by former dance students from the Lala Führ dance school. In 1971 the first ball was “Mainz greets Latin America” in the Electoral Palace in Mainz and in 1978 there was the first “Ball of Wine” as a homage to the wine city of Mainz .

In 1996 he was the host of the Standard World Championship for Seniors I in the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz. World champions were Dr. Hans Jürgen and Ulrike Burger from their friends dance club Blau-Orange Wiesbaden .

The A-Team at the German Formation Championship 2008

The standard formation was established in 1994, followed by the B-Team in 1999 and the C-Team in 2005. The A-Team rose to the 1st Bundesliga Standard in 2002.

Until the 2008/2009 season, the team competed in this league without interruption, but then relegated to the 2. Bundesliga Standard. In the same season, the B-Team of the TC Rot-Weiss Casino Mainz won the Regionalliga Süd Standard. The team was also able to win the promotion tournament to the 2nd Bundesliga Standard and thus secure the promotion of the B-Team to the 2nd Bundesliga.

Two teams from the TC Rot-Weiss Casino Mainz started in the 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 seasons; the A-Team in the 2nd Bundesliga and the B-Team in the Regionalliga Süd Standard. The B-Team won the 2011/2012 season in the Regionalliga Süd and achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with 2nd place in the relegation tournament.

In July 2012, the club withdrew its A-Team from the 2. Bundesliga Standard, the B-Team became the A-Team. The team of the TTC Rot-Weiss-Silber Bochum moved up to the position in the 2nd Bundesliga Standard that was thus vacated . Since the B-Team of the TC Rot-Weiss Casino Mainz came second in the promotion tournament in the 2011/2012 season and thus made it to the 2nd Bundesliga Standard, the club entered this league again in the 2012/2013 season. At the end of October 2013, the club withdrew its A-team again from the 2. Bundesliga Standard. The TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim moved up to the starting position .

In the 2015/2016 season, a standard formation of the TC Rot-Weiss Casino Mainz competed in the Regionalliga Süd Standard. At the end of the 2017/2018 season, he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga Standard. The musical theme in the 2018/2019 season was "Glamor Is Back".

The trainers of the standard formation are Julia Hofmann, Jens Lotz and Markus Mengelkamp.

Latin

In 1993, the Latin formation of the Metropol Wiesbaden dance club moved to Mainz. The formation started under the coach Bärbel Viehl-Petschenka in the Oberliga Süd Gruppe Nord Latin and was promoted to the Regional League. In 1995 Stephan Frank took over the coaching position. The formation shuttled between Oberliga and Regionalliga until it broke up in 1996 due to a lack of active players.

  • September: “Ball des Weines” as part of the Hechtsheimer Winzertage in the community center Hechtsheim
  • November: “Mainz greets Latin America” Festive ball in the Electoral Palace with a ranking tournament in the Latin American dances of the highest German class.

In addition, there are sports tournaments in different starting classes, events for the “Day of Dance” of the German Dance Sports Association, acceptance of the German Dance Sports Badge (DTSA) and dance teas from popular sports groups.
