background
The Fern couple had the dance show Permit you? Between 1964 and 1965 . moderated. After the success of the 25 episodes, a new series was commissioned in 1966, which was titled Dance Party with the Ferns . Like the previous series, it was produced by Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR). The concept of the show hadn't changed either. The music came from the media band of the West German Radio Orchestra under the direction of Harald Banter and was recorded live. Each episode of the half-hour broadcast was dedicated to at least two dances from home and abroad. The audience was greeted with the slogan “Maybe you would like to join this right away, please! Please change your dance posture! ”Asked to dance along. Prominent guests were invited to some of the programs.
The program was broadcast monthly on Saturday afternoons on ARD. Repetitions took place irregularly in the evening program. A total of 19 episodes were broadcast, then the program was discontinued. Today the show will be repeated on ARD-alpha (formerly: BR-alpha) and One (formerly: Einsfestival) as part of the program Die Fernsehtruhe .
