Tara Bouman

Tara Bouman (* 1970 in Leiden ) is a Dutch clarinetist.

Life

Tara Bouman studied with Piet Honingh in Amsterdam and was then a student of Suzanne Stephens and Alain Damiens. She appeared as a soloist and in a chamber music ensemble with classical music and increasingly turned to modern music. She performed works by Isabel Mundry , Karlheinz Stockhausen , Markus Stockhausen , György Kurtág , Roderik de Man , Pierre Boulez , Hans Koolmees and Georges Aperghis, among others .

In addition, improvisation became one of her main focuses. Bouman performed with groups such as the ASKO Ensemble , the Ensemble Musikfabrik and the Trio European Wind . Since 2000 she has been playing with Markus Stockhausen in the Duo Moving Sounds .

She worked with musicians such as the pianists Fabrizio Ottaviucci and Nino Jvania , the double bass player Stefano Scodanibbio and the drummer Mark Nauseef . She appeared with drummer Stephan Froleyks in Manfred Kerklaus' theater project Rats live on no evil star about the American poet Anne Sexton .
