Tara Subkoff

Tara Subkoff (born December 10, 1972 in Westport , Connecticut ; born Tara Lyn Subkoff ) is an American actress and fashion designer .

Life and accomplishments

Tara Subkoff attended Parsons Design School in New York City , but left it after a year. As an actress, she made her debut in 1993 on the side of Ally Walker and Martin Sheen in a larger role in the thriller Murdered on July 16 . In the mystery thriller Deception (1996) she appeared on the side of Alicia Silverstone and Kevin Dillon . In the horror film Black Circle Boys (1997) she played one of the bigger roles alongside Scott Bairstow , in the film drama All Over Me from the same year she took on one of the leading roles. She also played another leading role in the comedy Lover Girl (1997). In the comedy The Last Days of Disco (1998), Subkoff played alongside Chloë Sevigny , Kate Beckinsale and Jennifer Beals , and in the SF thriller The Cell (2000) she appeared alongside Jennifer Lopez and Vincent D'Onofrio .

As a fashion designer, Tara Subkoff created the Imitation of Christ fashion label together with Matthew Damhave in 2000 , for which Chloë Sevigny also briefly acted as creative director . The label, which in the eyes of the experts is characterized by the simultaneity of the avant-garde and retro look as well as by extravagant presentation shows, has been run by Tara Subkoff since 2001 after Damhave left. The name of the label comes from the book Imitation of Christ ( Imitation of Christ ) of late medieval author Thomas a Kempis .
