The pigeon tower (French colombier or pigeonnier ) in Bussy-Saint-Georges , a French commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region , was set up in a tower of the ruined castle at the beginning of the 17th century.

history

The pigeon tower has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1987 .

The round tower made of plastered stone masonry has been renovated in recent years. He has a vaulted hall on the ground floor , which rests on a central column. Originally there were over 5000 pigeon nests on the third floor. The tower is decorated with ribbons made of brick. It is crowned by a weather vane .
