The pigeon tower (French colombier or pigeonnier ) in Larchant , a French commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region , was built in the 17th century.

history

The polygonal pigeon tower made of quarry stone stands next to the former tithe barn , it belonged to the Ferme du Chapître (farm of the chapter) . The owner was the cathedral chapter of the Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris .

The barn and the pigeon tower have been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1981 . Access to the tower is via a round arched portal , which is framed by house stones . There is a cornice in the center of the tower .
