The Tauernkogel (also Felber Tauernkogel ) is 2988  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Venediger group of  the Hohe Tauern . It lies west of the Felber Tauern , the border between Salzburg and Tyrol runs over its summit . It can be reached on a difficult mountain tour over a steep snowfield in around 1.5 hours from the St. Pöltner Hütte  .
