The baptismal font in the Catholic Church of St-Vaast in Chéreng , a French parish in the Nord department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created in the 12th century. In 1886, the Romanesque- style baptismal font was added to the list of listed buildings ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique

The 1.05 meter high stone baptismal font by Écaussinnes stands on a column with a round base decorated with corner leaves . The basin is decorated with a ribbon at the top and bottom. Four heads protrude plastically, in between is a broad relief of plant motifs.

The baptismal font was a gift from Everard of Avesnes , who was Bishop of Tournai from 1173 to 1190 .
