The baptismal is a 1000.7 m above sea level. NHN high summit in the northwest of the Fichtelberg massif in the upper Ore Mountains .
Location and surroundings
The summit is the most north-westerly branch of the Erzgebirge plateau and only rises imperceptibly against it (approx. 9 meters). However, towards the valley of the Große Mittweida it drops to the northeast by about 250 meters. The Taufichtig nature reserve named after the summit is located on this slope . The present-day desert of Erbendorf was located near the Taufichtig .
Paths to the summit
The mountain can be reached via the yellow-marked Crottendorf - Tellerhäuser hiking trail , which touches the summit and makes the nature reserve accessible to hikers. There are other, small paths around the summit away from the larger hiking routes.
