Tavoris Karod Cloud (born January 10, 1982 in Quincy , Florida ) is an American professional boxer .

Cloud grew up in the city of Quincy, Florida. He started boxing when he was 16. His mother was against it at first, but eventually she accepted his decision. As an amateur, his record was 45 wins and eight losses. In 2000 he was US Junior Champion and took part in the Junior World Championship in Hungary , where he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Clemente Russo .

Cloud played his first professional fight in 2004. After he was able to win all of his first five fights early, he finally had to make ends meet in his sixth professional fight against the journeyman Reggie Strickland , for the first and so far only time. After he was able to prematurely end the next 11 fights, he finally fought in March 2008 against his compatriot Mike Wood for the vacant titles of the North American associations USBA, NABA and NABO. He won this fight with a knockout in the first round.

On August 8, 2008, he defeated the Mexican Julio Gonzalez in an elimination match for the position of the IBF mandatory challenger by a technical knockout in the tenth round.

On August 28, 2009 he was able to win the vacant light heavyweight title of the IBF after a unanimous victory on points over former world champion Clinton Woods . He then defended the title against Glen Johnson , Fulgencio Zúñiga, Yusaf Mack and Gabriel Campillo .

He lost the title in the spring of 2013 to Bernard Hopkins on points. He lost prematurely to Adonis Stevenson in September of the same year. In 2014 he was knocked out in the second round against Artur Beterbijew .
