Taylor Nelson Sofres was the parent company of the German TNS Emnid and TNS Infratest , which had offices in Munich , Bielefeld , Hamburg , Berlin and Frankfurt am Main , and the Austrian TNS Info Research Austria, based in Vienna .

history

TNS was created in 1997 through the merger of two market research firms, Taylor Nelson AGB from Great Britain and Sofres from France. Taylor Nelson was founded in 1965, Sofres in 1963. In October 2008, the British WPP Group took over TNS for 1.93 billion US dollars. Since then, the company has been part of the market research division of the WPP Group, the Kantar Group . From September 2016, the brand name TNS Infratest was replaced by Kantar TNS and TNS Emnid by Kantar Emnid .
