Flag of Idaho

The flag of the US state of Idaho consists of the seal of the state centered on a blue field. The words "State of Idaho" are written below in gold letters on a red and gold ribbon. According to the official description of the flag, there should be a golden border at the corners of the flag, but in many cases this detail is not found on the flag.

The seal in the center of the flag shows a miner and a woman who stand for equality, freedom and justice. The symbols on the seal represent the use of Idaho's natural resources: raw materials , forests , farmland and game .

The flag is based on a design of a flag worn by Idaho's 1st Infantry during the Spanish-American War in 1898 . The design was officially adopted in 1907 and slightly modified in 1957.
