New Hampshire flag
The flag of the US state of New Hampshire was introduced on January 1, 1932.
description
The flag shows the state seal on a blue field. The seal is surrounded by a wreath and nine stars, symbolizing that New Hampshire became the ninth state to join the Union. The wreath is an ancient symbol of honor, fame and victory. The water represents Portsmouth Harbor. The rock symbolizes the rough landscape and the rough character of the people of the state.
The New Hampshire seal shows the USS Raleigh , built in the city of Portsmouth in 1776 , one of the first 13 warships built for the new US Navy on behalf of the Continental Congress .
