Flag of Nebraska
The flag of the US state of Nebraska was introduced in 1925.
symbolism
The flag shows the golden seal of Nebraska from the year 1867 on a blue flag cloth . This shows an allegorical landscape as a symbol for the agriculture and industry of the state.
A steam locomotive with attached wagons drives through the background in front of a mountain landscape. A steamer sails on the river, the Missouri . A log cabin and bundles of wheat symbolize the importance of the settlers and agriculture. In the foreground a blacksmith is working on his anvil.
At the top of the seal is on a banner the motto of the state: "Equality Before the Law" ( equality before the law ).
Trivia
In a 2001 Internet vote by the North American Vexillological Association (the North American Flag Studies Association), this flag was voted penultimate among the US states and Canadian provinces.
