Technetium (VII) oxide is an inorganic chemical compound of technetium from the group of oxides .
presentation
Technetium (VII) oxide can be obtained by reacting technetium with oxygen at 450–500 ° C.
It is also produced during the disproportionation of technetium (VI) oxide .
properties
Technetium (VII) oxide is a light yellow, very hygroscopic solid in the form of needle-shaped crystals. In the solid state it has a molecular structure and an orthorhombic crystal structure with the space group Pbca (space group no. 61) and the lattice parameters a = 1375.6 pm, b = 743.9 pm and c = 561.7 pm. It is soluble in water with the formation of pertechnetic acid HTcO 4 , the concentrated solution being pink in color.
