history

Founded in 1898 as the “Städtische Centrale”, the power supply for the city of Halle (Westphalia) was renamed in 1958 as “Electricity supply for the city of Halle”. In 1972 it became the “Stadtwerke Halle”, a municipal company. This was spun off from the town hall in 1996 and has been operating as TWO Technische Werke Osning GmbH since then.

Power supply

The supply area of ​​TWO Technische Werke Osning GmbH consists of two physically separate power networks. One network includes the district of Künsebeck with the supplier Stadtwerke Bielefeld GmbH and belongs to the E.ON control area . The second network consists of the urban area of ​​Halle and the districts of Bokel , Hesseln , Hörste and Kölkebeck with the supplier RWE Westfalen-Weser-Ems AG and belongs to the RWE control area. The entire distribution network extends over 568 kilometers; the network load in 2015 was 130.2 million kWh. In Hall's network there are also several, mostly private power generation systems, such as around 408 solar systems , 8 biomass systems, 1 landfill degassing, 4 wind turbines with 4 wind turbines and 25 combined heat and power plants . Around 3,008 city street lamps are also attached to the TWO's own power grid.

Natural gas supply

TWO Technische Werke Osning GmbH operates a 190-kilometer pipe network in Halle (Westphalia) to supply households, companies and public institutions with natural gas. Around 60 percent of all buildings are connected, currently around 3,595. A 24-hour natural gas filling station is also connected, which was put into operation in October 2004 in cooperation with Aral AG and RWE Westfalen-Weser-Ems AG . The local natural gas network is connected to the domestic German natural gas network via two transfer stations in the city. The usable natural gas sales in 2015 amounted to 140.4 million kWh.

Water supply

The pipe network, with which almost all households and businesses in the city of Halle (Westphalia) are connected to the TWO wells, is 290 kilometers in length. A water network with the neighboring municipalities of Borgholzhausen and Steinhagen ensures additional security of supply . The TWO's own waterworks pumps around one million cubic meters of groundwater per year . A total of twelve wells deliver water south of the city from a depth of around 20 meters. The water is pumped from the waterworks through a four-kilometer pipeline into the elevated reservoir in the north of the city, which is 190 meters above sea level . There and in the waterworks, up to 4,200 cubic meters of water can be stored in seven intermediate tanks. The usable water output in 2015 was 1.0395 billion cubic meters.

Lindenbad

Since 1987, TWO Technische Werke Osning GmbH has been operating the Lindenbad indoor and outdoor swimming pool in Hall. The bathroom was modernized in several construction phases between 2004 and 2008. The implementation of the pool strategy concept and the demolition of the linden pool were decided unanimously in the council on April 6, 2011. On February 22, 2012, the preliminary draft for the construction of a new lime-tree pool was presented to the City Council of Halle (Westphalia). The new bathroom is designed to be completely barrier-free. It includes a 4-lane sports pool with a three-meter platform and a one-meter board, a toddler pool and a teaching pool with a lifting floor . A bus loop with a bus stop at the main entrance ensures that schoolchildren can get on and off safely. On July 1, 2012, the old Lindenbad was open to public bathing for the last time. Immediately afterwards, the demolition or the new construction began. The opening of the new bath took place in March 2014.

Contracting

Technische Werke Osning GmbH has had contracting offers for industry and commerce, municipalities and public institutions as well as commercial landlords since 2004 . These are available to customers whose heating system has an output of at least 100 kW.

Funding programs

Technische Werke Osning GmbH offers various funding programs to create incentives to reduce CO 2 . The heating renovation with the change from oil to gas, the commissioning of heat pumps and the use of natural gas and electricity-powered vehicles are financially supported .

Promotion of culture and sport
