Ted Adams (actor)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Richard Theodore Adams (born March 17, 1890 in New York City , † September 24, 1973 in Los Angeles ) was an American actor .

Life

Adams apparently earned his living as a warehouse worker and from 1911 as a stage actor in New York City - as the son of vaudeville artists, he had already gained stage experience as a child. What is certain is that he came to film in 1925 and found his niche as a western actor at the end of the decade; his villains were to be seen in over 200 films and serials mostly small production companies like Supreme, Metropolitan, Puritan, Colony and Victory Pictures, later he played for Producers Releasing Corporation and Monogram Pictures in addition to smaller roles for the larger studios; for Republic Pictures he was repeatedly active between 1936 and 1951. After the Second World War he played eighteen times in B-Westerns alongside the hero Johnny Mack Brown . In 1953 he retired from acting, who also worked a lot for early television.
