Ted Lo

Ted Lo (* around 1950 in Hong Kong ) is a Hong Kong-Chinese jazz and fusion musician ( piano , keyboard , arrangement ) who also worked in the United States.

Lo studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston (graduating in 1976) and then lived in Los Angeles, where he was a member of the bands of Raul de Souza and Airto Moreira from the 1970s . Since 1980 recordings were made with musicians such as Ron Carter ( Parfait ), Michael Franks ( Objects of Desire ), Eric Gale ( Island Breeze ), Dave Valentin ( Mind Time ), Harvie Swartz ( Full Moon Dancer ) and Ana Caram ( Amazonia ). In 1985 he published the smooth jazz album Reflections of Love under his own name . In the 1990s he formed the Asian American Jazz Trio ( Moon over the World ) with Rufus Reid and Akira Tana ; he also accompanied Tania Maria . After returning to Hong Kong, Lo a. a. with Alexia Gardnerer; he also worked as an arranger for artists such as Sammi Cheng, Gin Lee, Kary Ng and Sally Yeh. In the field of jazz, according to Tom Lord , he was involved in 22 recording sessions between 1974 and 2010, most recently with Stix Hooper ( Many Hats ).
