Teemu Aalto (born March 30, 1978 in Kokkola ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player who was last under contract with Tampereen Ilves in the Finnish Liiga .

Career

Teemu Aalto began his career as a hockey player with Hermes Kokkola , for which he was active in I divisioona from 1996 to 1999 . He then moved to HPK Hämeenlinna , for which he was on the ice for the following five seasons in the SM-liiga and took third place in 1999, 2000 and 2002. In addition, the defender completed two games for FPS Forssa from the second-rate Mestis in the 2000/01 season . In the summer of 2004 Aalto signed a contract for the first time in other European countries, where he joined Timrå IK , for which he spent the following two seasons in the Swedish Elitserien . The right-handed shooter also ended the 2005/06 season in Switzerland, where he played once for SC Bern from National League A and four times for HC Sierre-Anniviers from National League B in the playoffs .

Subsequently, Aalto returned to his Finnish homeland, where he was the following two seasons with Tappara Tampere under contract, with whom he was third in the 2007/08 season . Before the 2008/09 season he was obliged by Linköpings HC from the Elitserien, for which he played in all four group games of the newly founded Champions Hockey League this season, but remained unpunished.

In August 2011 he returned to Finland and was signed by Kärpät Oulu . For Kärpät he completed 62 games in the SM-liiga before he was signed by Lukko Rauma in May 2011 . At Lukko he was assistant captain and reached third place in the Finnish championship with the club in 2011. The following season he was obliged by his ex-club Tappara Tampere.
