Teemu Elomo (born January 13, 1979 in Turku ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Dragons de Rouen in the French Ligue Magnus since 2011 . His older brother Miika was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Teemu Elomo began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of TPS Turku , for whose professional team he was active in the SM-liiga from 1996 to 2001 . With his team he won the Finnish championship title three times in a row in 1999, 2000 and 2001 . In his rookie year , the 1996/97 season , he was also runner-up with TPS. At the European level, the winger and his team won the European Hockey League in 1997 , and in 2000 he finished third with his team. At the same time as playing with the TPS professional team, he became the 1998 A-Junior SM-liiga champions. From 1995 to 1997 he was also used for Kiekko-67 in the second-class I divisioona.
From 2001 to 2005 Elomo played for the Espoo Blues in the SM-liiga. He then went to other European countries, where he signed a contract with Mora IK in the Swedish Elitserien . After he had to accept relegation to the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan with Mora in the 2007/08 season , he initially stayed with the team for another year. The 2009/10 season began for the former junior world and European champion with the Hungarian club Alba Volán Székesfehérvár in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League . For the team he completed only seven games, in which he gave three assists, he moved to Herning Blue Fox , with whom he finished third in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen at the end of the season. He contributed to this success with 17 goals and 19 assists in a total of 37 games.
In the 2010/11 season Elomo was under contract with the Swedish second division club Tingsryds AIF . The following season he was obliged by the Dragons de Rouen from the French Ligue Magnus .
International
For Finland , Elomo took part in the junior division at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1996 and 1997 , as well as the U20 Junior World Championships in 1998 and 1999 . At the Junior European Championships he won the gold and silver medal with his teams. He was also Junior World Champion with Finland in 1998. In the senior sector, he was in his country's 2003 squad for the Euro Hockey Tour .
