Tehzeeb ( Hindi : तह्ज़ीब, Urdu : تہزیب ) is a Bollywood film that was released in India in 2003 .

action

Tehzeeb ( Urmila Matondkar ) saw as a child how her mother, the famous singer Rukhsana Jamal ( Shabana Azmi ), shot her father ( Rishi Kapoor ). Tehzeeb hid the gun and didn't tell her mother that she saw it all. She grew up with this secret, and besides, she always felt that her mother's career was more important than her children. Tehzeeb's mentally ill sister Nazneen ( Diya Mirza ) put Rukhsana in a clinic, which only made her condition worse. Tehzeeb picked up Nazneen and is now taking care of her. Tehzeeb's husband Salim ( Arjun Rampal ) is a writer, they got married without telling Rukhsana about it. That's why they haven't had any contact with her for several years. Now she comes to visit them for a few days. The mother-daughter conflict is programmed.
