The pond bat waters at Upper Hammelwarden and Lienen are a protected landscape area in the Lower Saxon towns Brake (Unterweser) and Elsfleth and the municipality Ovelgönne in Wesermarsch .

The nature reserve is around 33  hectares in size. It encompasses the part of the FFH area "Teichfledermaus in the Bremerhaven / Bremen area " located in the Wesermarsch district . The area has been under landscape protection since December 22, 2018. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Wesermarsch district.

The area lies between Elsfleth and Brake (Unterweser). It represents the Käseburger Sieltief from a little below the old mill house in Ovelgönne to the confluence with the Weser , the Belggraben from the Kreisstraße 212 to the confluence with the Käseburger Sieltief as well as an area with former soil extraction waters in Elsfleth-Lienen (between the Kreisstraße 212 and the Oberhammelwarder Tief) under protection. In addition to the bodies of water, the five-meter-wide bank areas of the Käseburger Sieltiefs and the Belggraben are included in the landscape protection area, as is the area surrounding the soil degradation waters. The bank areas are partially occupied by vegetation and reed beds and the Käseburger Sieltief is sometimes accompanied by woody trees. The former drainage waters are naturally developed with floating leaf vegetation of the frog-bite and spawning communities. They are surrounded by silting zones with reed beds and wet bushes as well as narrow alder break forest areas.

The conservation area serves to secure the area as a feeding habitat for pond bat and other bat species . The waters are a walking corridor for mud whippers and wolffishers . The area is to be developed as a potential habitat for otters and bitterling .
