Teide 1 is an astronomical object of the genus brown dwarf discovered around 1995 at a distance of about 400 light years from Earth. Teide 1 comprises around 20 to 50 masses of Jupiter and is therefore comparable to Gliese 229 B and the slightly larger PPl 15 . Teide 1 and PPl 15 are single objects, while Gliese 229 B and his partner Gliese 229 A , a red dwarf , form the double star system Gliese 229 .
