Temax SA ( Greek Τέμαξ ) is a fire fighting equipment manufacturer from Athens that used to manufacture buses and automobiles .
Company history
G. Tournikiotis and Petros Tangalakis founded the Tournikiotis-Tangalakis company in 1925 after taking over a body shop founded in 1922. The operation was rationalized and designed for the construction of buses. In 1934 the two founders separated and Petros Tangalakis renamed the company Tangalakis . The assembly of automobiles began in 1936. In 1963 the production of special vehicles for the fire brigade started , initially only on International Harvester chassis, later also on those of other manufacturers. The company has been called Temax since 1965 .
Automobiles
The Tangalakis company assembled passenger cars for some time from 1936 . They were Austin and DKW models . The engines were imported.
