An American-inspired concept was pursued with the Chicago model , aimed at buyers of American vehicles in Greece, the design came from Georgios Michael . Unlike the road cruiser, it was also designed for off-road use and became the forerunner of later crossover vehicles before the Matra Rancho , which was built in 1977 . A four-door notchback body made of plastic was mounted on a robust chassis with a steel frame . A V8 engine from AMC with a displacement of 4979 cm³ and an output of 177 hp provided the drive .
