Balkania was a car brand from Greece .

Company history

K. Zacharopoulos founded the company K. Zacharopoulos ABEE in Athens in 1954 as a repair workshop. In 1972 the import of vehicles from Romania and India began . In 1975 two models appeared, which were offered under the brand name Balkania . When Mahindra & Mahindra Limited took over the company in 1984, the Balkania brand was discontinued.

The company manufactured pick-ups . One model was the autotractor . A diesel engine from Daimler-Benz with a displacement of 3200 cm³ provided the drive . The payload was given as 1500 kg. The body was initially made of metal , from 1979 it was made of fiberglass .

The smaller model Autotractor KZ was similar to the Jeep and was based on a model from Mahindra. A diesel engine with a displacement of 2100 cm³ and an output of 62 hp and a petrol engine with a displacement of 2500 cm³ and an output of 103 hp were available for the drive . Both engines came from Peugeot .
