The Templiner Stadtsee is a lake near the town of Templin in the state of Brandenburg .
The names Stadtsee and Templiner See are also used as the name of the lake . He is not to be confused with the at Potsdam lying Lake Templin . As part of the Templin waters , the lake is navigable and accessible from the Havel via the Templin lock .
The elongated lake is located east of Templin. It has an area of 87 hectares , is almost 2.5 kilometers long and at its widest point about 650 meters wide. The maximum depth is 9 meters. The lime-rich, unstratified lake has a relatively large catchment area with 24,093 hectares. Its volume is 5,047,653 m³. The inflow of the lake comes from Bruchsee at the eastern end of the lake. Drainage takes place via the Templin Canal to the west.
The Templin city harbor is located on the western shore of the lake . Love Island is in the western part of the lake .
The fish species eel , perch , bream , chub , pike , crucian carp , carp , burbot , roach , rudd , tench , bleak , catfish and pikeperch are found in the lake .
