Terbium (IV) fluoride is an inorganic chemical compound of terbium from the group of fluorides .
Extraction and presentation
Terbium (IV) fluoride can be obtained by reacting terbium (III) chloride or terbium (III) fluoride with fluorine at 320 ° C.
Also possible is the synthesis of terbium (III) fluoride with xenon fluorides XeF x (x = 2,4 or 6) or krypton difluoride .
properties
Terbium (IV) fluoride is a white solid that is insoluble in water. It has a monoclinic crystal structure isotype to that of uranium (IV) fluoride .
