Terence Bayler

Terence Bayler (born January 24, 1930 in Wanganui , † August 2, 2016 ) was a New Zealand actor .

Life

Bayler was born in Wanganui as the son of the stage worker Harold Bayler and his Amy, b. Allomes, born. His first film appearance was the male lead in the New Zealand film Broken Barrier from 1952. There he played a young journalist who falls in love with a Maori woman.

In 1971 he played the role of Macduff in Roman Polański's film adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth . He was injured in a sword fight with leading actor Jon Finch and had to be sewn just above the eye.

Bayler's special relationship with Monty Python began with an appearance on Eric Idle's BBC television series Rutland Weekend Television in 1975 . He played Leggy Mountbatten , manager of the fictional Beatles parody band The Rutles , in the American TV movie The Rutles - All You Need Is Cash (1978) and the small role of Mr. Gregory in The Life of Brian (1979) . He also appeared in the films Time Bandits (1981) and Brazil (1985) directed by Monty Python member Terry Gilliam . Eric Idle also cast him in the play Pass The Butler at London's West End Theater.

In 2001 Terence Bayler played the Bloody Baron in the first part of the Harry Potter film series.
