Teresa Kowalska (2017)

Teresa Kowalska (born July 19, 1946 in Gliwice ) is a Polish chemist and professor of chemistry at the Silesian University of Katowice . Your scientific work mainly deals with chromatography .

Career

Kowalska studied chemistry from 1963 to 1968 at the Pedagogical University in Katowice and in 1968 at the Silesian University there.

In 1972 Teresa Kowalska received her doctorate there . Between 1974 and 1975 she conducted research in the field of organic chemistry at various British universities ( Salford , Lancashire and East Anglia ) with a grant from the British Council . Then she returned to the Silesian University in Katowice. Kowalska completed his habilitation in 1988 at the Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin .

From 1990 to 1991 she worked as a lecturer, then until 2000 as an associate professor at the Institute for Chemistry at the Silesian University. In 1999 she was visiting professor at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan .

research

Kowalska has published more than 300 scientific papers. She has also emerged as the editor of chromatographic journals ( Acta Chromatographica ) and books. Teresa Kowalska was also a member of the editorial board of many other specialist journals.

Literary translations

She is also interested in the works of Christian Morgenstern , Joachim Ringelnatz , Frank Wedekind and Han Suyin , which she has translated into Polish.
