The Terissaqqan ( Kazakh Терісаққан ; Russian Терсаккан Tersakkan ) is a left tributary of the Ishim in the central north of Kazakhstan .
The Terissaqqan rises in the western part of the Kazakh threshold . From there it flows mainly in a northerly direction and finally reaches the Ishim river at the settlement of Terissaqqan (formerly Kasgorodok ). The river flows through the areas of Qaraghandy , Qostanai and Aqmola . The Terissaqqan has a length of 334 km. It drains an area of 19,500 km². The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The spring flood accounts for 90% of the annual runoff. The mean discharge is 2.5 m³ / s. Maximum discharges reach values of up to 52.7 m³ / s. It is covered with ice between November and mid-April. The upper course often falls dry. During severe winters, the river can freeze to the bottom.
