Terry Shawn Swanson (* 6. August 1996 ) is an American American football poker players. He plays in the running back position .

Career

Swanson attended high school in Aliquippa , Pennsylvania . There he was part of a team that won the state championship twice and came second twice. In total, he ran 4,333 yards in his high school career . He started all four seasons as running back and two more seasons as safety . As a junior, he could run 1,546 yards and 20 touchdowns . As a senior, he scored 1,708 yards, 23 touchdowns in 142 runs. Swanson has received scholarship offers from Toledo , Akron , Delaware , Temple , Ohio , Kent State, and various FCS teams. At the beginning of December 2013, he decided on Toledo.

Here he started playing for the Toledo Rockets in 2014 . He started his college career as a backup to Kareem Hunt . When this was canceled for a short time in Swanson's freshman season due to injury, Swanson was already able to record first successes. He finished his first year with 782 yards run. He also caught twelve passes for a touchdown and 152 yards. In his second season he remained a backup. Due to an injury to Hunt, Swanson saw more playing time again and ran for 923 yards and seven touchdowns throughout the season. He was elected to the second team All-MAC for this. In 2016, he ran 583 yards in 116 runs and caught ten passes for 74 yards. After Hunt moved to the NFL after the 2016 season, Swanson first started the season as a senior in 2017. He ran 242 times, scoring 1,363 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also caught 20 passes for 194 yards. Swanson was elected to the first team All-MAC . He finished his time in Toledo with a total of 3,601 yards run, 492 yards taken and 33 touchdowns. The 3,601 yards is the fourth best value in school history.

After Swanson was not selected in the 2018 NFL Draft , he was signed by the Houston Texans , with whom he had already met before the draft. Despite leading the Texans in the running game with 69 yards in 16 runs, including a 37-yard touchdown run, in the final preseason game, Swanson was fired on August 31, 2018.

In December he had a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs . In mid-March 2019, the Salt Lake Stallions from the Alliance of American Football signed Swanson. However, the league stopped playing at the beginning of April.
